This place never disappointed me. Carnitas is sooooo good.. I dont eat fat or skin.. so I usually get only meat but always tender. Never had dry meat, flaver is nice, tortilla is so yummy
Pretty good food. The chilaquiles were a little too hot, but they were so good that I finished them all. Seems all the dishes came with beans and rice so even better didnt complain at all lol also the coffee they serve is de olla, really good coffee. They don't use regular plates but foam containers, so make be sure to expect that. Other than that, its a pretty good and affordable place to eat. I believe we paid like $25 for all this
These are absolutely phenomenal carnitas tacos!! I got meat and fat/skin and they were flavorful and succulent with a deep pork flavor. The salsas on the side were also fantastic: the salsa verde had a citrusy note and the salsa roja will make your lips numb, but in the best way possible. The tacos were also massive enough that I saved one for another day. A dinner was $14, but that's pretty standard for any taco dinner these days for much, much worse food. So worth it. I ordered takeout so I can't speak to the atmosphere, but the service was very friendly. I will say at peak hours it seems impossible to get in here; this was my third weekend in a row trying to find a parking spot on a Saturday night, but I went way after dinner hours and finally nabbed a spot. It was worth it!
We went on a Saturday and they didn’t have Carnitas. Pretty disappointing to go to a restaurant called Carnitas and they didn’t have it. What they did have was pretty good. They make their own corn tortillas in house. Definitely can taste the fresh. The guac was great. The chips were good but oily and salty. Probably that’s why they were good. My point being, they weren’t your standard chips you get in any Mexican restaurant. My Fortas bread was delicious. The amount of meat in the tacos seemed above average. Pretty delicious as well. Horchata was very good. The server was very helpful. New and clean restaurant. Hope they can keep it clean like that. Oh by the way, they can do better than a sfork. Cmon!!!
Had a burrito dinner with cabeza. Very good! The meat was so tender and juicy.
If you have seen the hype on Instagram and Tik Tok, then here is an honest review on the Northlake location. My family and I frequent our favorite Mexican restaurant and taco trucks in Milwaukee, so we were excited to check out a new place. Overall, customer service was good and the restaurant was clean. Tacos were generous and filled with meat! Pico de Gallo was refreshing. Chicharrons had a good flavor, but some pieces were fried too hard. Carnitas and barbacoa were tender and savory. I wouldn't say the best, but they were good. Pozole had a nice, simple flavor and the pork and hominy was cooked well. I only wish that the soup was served hot and not lukewarm. The house made bottles of mild and hot sauce were tasty. The restaurant gets extremely crowded-10 dining tables. With the open kitchen concept, you can see and hear everything being prepared. I was not a fan of the fast-food concept. Our family of four spent about $100 (4 taco dinners, pozole, chips (a little too oliy) & guac, cebollitas & chiles, pico, chicharrons, and drinks) on a late lunch around 2PM and it was hard to find seating. Even as we were finishing up our meals, there was another family standing around our table like vultures to grab our seats. With the long lines to order & pick-up food, constant pounding/chopping of the meat cleaver, having sporks to eat with---all within a small dining area did not give off the most pleasant dining experience. If you are in the area, I'd say grab a taco or dish to go, but I wouldn't make the drive again solely for this restaurant.
